Krofta's technology is currently employed in over one hundred municipal water and wastewater facilities around the world.
Municipal Water: Dissolved Air Flotation And Filtration (DAFF)
The DAFF Sandfloat is unique product solution. Clarification and filtration are provided in a single compact unit, a process protected by patent. This combination provides the industry with both clarification and filtration in a footprint and volume that can be economically enclosed for protection and security.
Krofta's DAFF design process clarifies water at up to six times greater flows per square foot or area than traditional sedimentation. The exact loadings will vary according to the conditions and equipment utilized. General guidelines are as follows:

Worldwide there are over 30 installations of Krofta Sandfloat technology in the potable water market. Recent installations include a 14 million gallon per day potable water drinking plant in Sayreville, N.J. This facility utilizes one SPC-49 Supracell DAF clarifier and redundant SBP-49 Sandfloat clarifier/filtration unit for both clarification and manganese/iron removal.

Krofta's DAF technology is ideally suited for municipal wastewater treatment plant upgrades. The Supracell's efficiency, reduced footprint, and security allow municipalities to affordably meet strict governmental regulations - an advantage not offered by sedimentation or competitive DAF systems. Recent installations include Jefferson, WI, Richland Center, WI, Saumico, WI, and San Luis, AZ. The 'zero velocity' process allows the Supracell design to be the most volume economical on the market. Typically, the Supracell operates with only 20 inches of water in the clarifier tank, affording very low floor loadings. Supracell units generally weigh 160 pounds per sf or less and can be stacked in order to save space.
