| The process of Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF) was pioneered and perfected by Dr. Milos Krofta, an internationally renowned engineer, scientist, and visionary in treatment of water and wastewater.
During his lifetime, Dr. Krofta authored and co-authored approximately 400 publications and generated over sixty U.S. and foreign patents. Currently, eight active patents protect Krofta Technologies Corporation's DAF equipment and processes.
At the heart of the DAF system is a proprietary air dissolving tube or ADT. Developed to overcome the nuisance and danger of bulky pressure vessels (still used by some companies), the ADT is the key to the short retention time of the Krofta Supracell clarifier. The efficient ADT contributes to both a reduced footprint (or size) and zero-velocity shallow tank design.
Over 3000 Krofta style DAF clarifiers, sand filters, fractioning screens, and other types of water and wastewater equipment have been installed around the world. Dr. Krofta's advanced flotation technology is used to successfully treat municipal water and wastewater, industrial process water, and wastewater from food, laundry, automotive, dairy barn, resort, refinery, tannery, petrochemical, and pulp and paper operations.
Dr. Milos Krofta founded Krofta Technologies Corporation in 2000 and assigned all of his patent rights and trademarks to the company. Until his death in 2002, Dr. Krofta served as Chairman of the Board. Under the Krofta™ trademark, Krofta Technologies |
