I started this video at the beginning of September last year. The idea came to me the first time I heard the song. The lyrics reminded me so much of Berserk, and the style of the music fit Berserk's style perfectly.
The concept of this video is told by Guts, and all the lyrics of the song are from his point of view. Some of the lyrics convey Guts' experiences on the battlefield. But the lyrics during the chours of the song bring out the true concept by describing how Guts looked up to Griffith, and how he understands the troubles Griffith is going through. The main concept is the relationship between guts and Griffith; as partners on the battlefield, as best friends, and as mortal enemies (immortal in Griffith's case).
I am very confident of the connection between the song and anime in this video, and I am very proud with the result. It's not always you get a song and anime that match up so perfectly, they seem like they were made for each other.
This video took way
too long...
I started this video, probably before The Path of Least Resistance... I
can't remember, but it was way back last summer. I had started it, then
took a break to work on some other videos while I waited for more
footage to become available as new Naruto episodes were coming out. I
also needed to download a couple Raw episodes that I didn't have (just
so it would be the best quality possible). Then I let the video sit for
a while, it wasn't until the Gaara Vs. Kimimaro fight that I started to
work more on the video.
So... I finally got to work, and it took a lot of work and timing, and
I finally finished this video. Probably one of the hardest videos I've
made, but i'm proud with the results. It definately does Gaara justice,
and acts as a sequal to my "Enter Gaara" video, using all the footage
that wasn't available for "Enter Gaara". I'm glad it took so long,
because now that the Naruto dub has started, it should get many
downloads.
Ah...
Konjiki no Gash bell. I've been wanting to make an AMV with this anime
for quite a while. Finally figured out a way to kill both the clock
thing (which appears on every bit of available Kngb footage) and the
subs at the same time. I turned it into a wide-screen vid. Now, I don't
usually make a video wide-screen unless it already is widescreen, but I
had no choice for this video. And cropping it even more would have been
too much. Anyways, once I heard the song "School" by Ayreon, I thought
of Kiyomaro, and this idea fit so well, I couldn't help but do it. I
did use a lot of "flash" timing in this video, and went crazy with clip
change timing. Hopefully you'll all be able to follow this video pretty
well, even if you haven't seen Kngb.
The theme of this video is Kiyomaro's life in and out of "School". In
school Kiyomaro is the smart obnoxious guy who doesn't have any
friends, simply because he finds them annoying and "not as smart as
him". Gash, a boy Kiyomaro's father rescued from a forest in England,
comes to Kiyomaro to help open Kiyomaro, and get him to be nicer and
get friends and stuff. At first Kiyomaro hates Gash, but when Gash
shows Kiyomaro true friendship, and saves Kiyomaro with his demon
powers, Kiyomaro learns what he must do to change. And Kiyomaro starts
to change, as more demons come to challange him. He then truly starts
to beleive in Gash, and they fight their hardest to end the horrible
demon battles.
I tried to capture how Kiyomaro changes, with his most emotional
moments in school, and his most pressing battles out of school. I think
I suceeded, and if you watch Konjiki no Gash Bell before watching this
video, you will see how this song was just right for the theme.
When
I heard the song "The Banishment" from Ayreon's very first album.
Shishio immediately popped into mind. A while ago I got a request to do
a Shishio video, since Makoto Shishio is rarely portrayed directly in a
decent Rurouni Kenshin AMV. So, I had recently gotten my new dell, with
a new DVD rom in it. My Rurouni Kenshin box set DVDs wouldn't work on
my old DVD rom, but worked just fine on my new one. So I start ripping
some footage and quickly get to work on this video. I cut the song, to
skip to the main part of the song (cutting off most of the instrumental
orchestrated beginning, but leaving enough to do my story intro) and
cut the entire ending off the song, and ended it at the next best
place. It starts out with some text I made myself, introducing Kenshin,
showing that he has a task, to banish Shishio. I explain a little about
Shishio. I then go to Kenshin as he is about to meet Saitou, and learn
of the task he has to complete. He then departs, leaving Kaoru behind.
Kenshin meets Shishio, but Shishio has a couple tricks up his sleeve
(or on his glove) that put Kenshin out of the fight for a little while.
Saitou then jumps in to take his place, and also fails. Everyone who
tries, just can't beat Shishio. Then Kenshin awakens. And he rises up
to banish the evil Shishio, that has corrupted the world to achieve his
goals. And our story ends as Shishio burns, and takes Yumi with him...
to hell.
Oh, and the typo in the intro... "And he became Kenshin's predecessor."
Shisho became Kenshin's successor. I think I thought I remembered
hearing them call Shishio Kenshin's predecessor in the anime so I got
confused and stuff... so yeah. It doesn't "ruin" the video though.
<_<
I
got the inspiration to make this video after watching the first episode
of Samurai Champloo. The song certianly fits the "music theme" of
Samurai Champloo, and it is perfect for the effects I used, and the
fast action.
I'm glad I used an original anime in this video, one that has been
murdered by countless crap videos. I also chose a song that was more
well-known, unlike most of my song choisec (Dream Theater, Symphony X,
etc.)
The idea for the title of this video came from Nappy's "The Path of
Most Resistance" Rurouni Kenshin (TV) AMV. Just like Nappy I used a
Crystal Method song, and just like Nappy, I used a Samurai Anime.
In Nappy's video Kenshin's fights are against very tough opponents, and
he has much resistance. In this video, Mugen and Jin fight some not so
tough opponents (their toughest fights are against each other). So the
title "The Path of Least Resistance" is just playing with Nappy's
title, to fit Samurai Champloo.
My
third Naruto AMV. This one is a Naruto themed video. I've been wanting
to use another Dream Theater song for an AMV for a long time, and once
I found the radio edit version of "Home" I knew it would be perfect for
Naruto!
So February vacation, I started my video. When I reached 2:00 into the
song, something happened to my computer, and I ended up losing
everything I had done on my video. The project files, and most of the
footage, were nowhere to be found.
I recovered the 2:00 preview, and began re-making the video from
scratch. It was actually coming out better the second time, because I
was noticing small timings I missed the first time.
A nice original thing I did in this video, was using the Naruto "Seal
Swirl" as a flashing clip. I know in some of my videos, I put too many
flashing clips, that are just a plain color. But, in this video, I make
the symbol flash, and do some pretty cool things with it, like the
spinning at 1:52.
I was originally planning to end the video with Naruto winning his
fight with Neji, but as my progress on the video was delayed, new
Naruto episodes were coming out, with magnificant footage of Naruto
fighting Gaara.
As raw Naruto episodes are very easy to get when they first go online,
I was able to get all the footage I needed rather quickly. I then
worked very hard on my video, and finally made it to the part of the
song where it switches to the cool instumental part near the end.
(4:30).
All April vacation I worked hard on the ending of the video, getting
the timing to be perfect. I was trying to use all the footage I could,
and conserve footage because I knew I would need it for the ending of
the video. I then overshot my target, and had very little room left to
show both the end of the Neji fight, and the end of the Gaara fight.
To 1. Try out a new effect, and 2. Conveniently finish the video using
as much footage as I could, with the limited amount of time left in the
song, I combined the two fights showing Naruto's victory into one.
I made a diagonal bar come on the screen to split the two fights, so
they would play at the same time. Then had the bar leave, as I faded
out on a clip of Naruto looking serious. I think this is actually my
best AMV ending yet!
All the footage used in this video is raw, without subtitles, or
cropping of subtitles, or covering up of subtitles. My other two Naruto
AMVs, are cropped. But I wanted to make this video perfect by using all
raw footage. It's a good thing I have Naruto DVDs, cause the old raws
are impossible to find.
This is just a fun trailer to Peace Maker Kurogane I made for a Trailer contest on the DBZSC forums.
Enjoy! ^_^
A
new Dragonball Z music video, after a much needed break. The theme of
this video is Broly. I chose Broly because I haven't done a Broly video
yet, and Movie 8 came out recently, and I have the DVD of Movie 10. The
timing is perfect throughout the whole video, and It flows nicely. I
tried out some new effects in this video, like the one with the
flipping images. That effect fit great with the song. The quality for
the Movie 8 footage is perfect, and the quality for Movie 10 footage is
great! I definately haven't lost my touch with Dragonball Z music
videos. Song requested by Son Gohi, awesome choice! Thanks for the
idea!
One
day, I was listening to the new Blind Guardian album, and I was
thinking about Rurouni Kenshin. I was planning to do another Rurouni
Kenshin video, since I had just done two Naruto videos. Anyways, the
song “Punishment Divine” had just come on, and I was thinking about
Soujiro, since I had recently seen his episodes recently in Rurouni
Kenshin. When the song was about halfway done, I heard the line “The
strong will survive, the weak must die!”
I then knew, this was the perfect song for Soujiro.
I listened to the rest of the song again, and looked at all the lyrics.
Sure enough, everything fit Soujiro perfectly! I decided to name this
video, Soujiro’s Lost Soul, because I wanted to make an original title
for once (not using the name of the song).
*Spoilers*
Soujiro is a boy who was adopted into a family who owned a rice
bussiness. That family hated Soujiro because he wasn’t really related
to them, but they had to take care of him. The family made Soujiro
carry their rice into the shed. When Soujiro didn’t do what they told
him to, they beat him. When Soujiro got mad, or cried, they beat him
more.
Soujiro then decided to smile, and take all their abuse, therefore shutting off his emotions.
Soujiro heard a scream one day, and decided to investigate it. An
assassin manslayer from the revolution named Makoto Shishio, “Kenshin’s
Successor”, was killing some police officers. Shishio noticed Soujiro,
and was about to kill him, when he noticed that Soujiro was smiling,
and didn’t care if he died. Shishio, noticing that Soujiro did not have
emotion, decided to turn him into a heartless killer. He gave Soujiro a
wakizashi to kill the Rice Company family.
After that, Soujiro’s soul was bound to Shishio. Untill… Soujiro met
Kenshin Himura. All his life, Soujiro believed in only one thing, “If
you are strong you live, if you are weak you die.” Kenshin’s philosophy
is the exact opposite. To protect the weak so that they can live in
peace.
This idea of Kenshin’s frustrates Soujiro. After fighting for a while
with Kenshin, Soujiro reflects on his past, and realizes that he didn’t
really want to do the things Shishio told him to do, and that his Soul
was lost.
After that realization, and a dramatic defeat by Kenshin’s “Ama Kakeru
Ryu no Hirameki” Soujiro decided to leave Shishio, and wander away to
find his soul.
Now for the lines in the song, that fit with Soujiro.
“It's warm and tender but very soon it will turn cold”
Soujiro is warm and tender, a nice boy. But very soon, he will turn cold and ruthless.
“It never rains -- it pours on me”
Soujiro feels like there is a little rain cloud following him around. It pours on him, but never rains anywhere else.
“The obvious point is I'm insane”
The obvious point is… Soujiro is insane.
“Was I aware whom I has slain”
Soujiro was not aware of the people he had slain.
“Witness my last breath, I do not regret a word I've said, The strong will survive,The weak must die”
Well, it’s obvious what this line fits with.
“Nature's law instead of God in heaven”
Soujiro follows nature’s law, not God in heaven.
“Well we all know there's no other side, It's good and evil, I know
right between, there's no borderline, This is the punishment divine”
Soujiro knows theres no other side, only good and evil, and that there is no borderline… that is punishment divine.
Basically all the lyrics in this song fit Soujiro perfectly, but I
decided to highlight these because they were important, and it’s sorta
hard to hear them in the song.
This video took me, about a month to make, and It came out better than
I expected. The song fit my idea perfectly and nothing went wrong. All
the effects I used, worked well, and I am amazed I was able to pull
this video off so well.
Naruto
Video #2! This one is a Gaara theme video. The sandman theme of this
video, is so obvious, and easy to think of.. I wonder why nobody has
used it before. In this video I think I truly depict the evil that is,
Gaara. The wavy effect near the beginning, was suggested by my friend
Ian, and it worked great! The footage source for this video, was the
same as "Sasuke, Fallen" so the quality is awesome! Some have told me
that this is my best video yet!
My
first Naruto music video! I used a long song in this video, because I
had just recently got into Symphony X, and I've wanted to use another
Progressive Rock song badly since "Goku's Revenge". So, one day I just
decided to put this song in my editor, and try out Naruto. After I had
done about a minute, I knew that this video was going to be great! This
video was made pretty fast, it took about 12 days. I don't think I
rushed too much though, because I spent a lot of time on it. The theme
of this video is Sasuke, and the song shows how Sasuke fights against
"The darkness that shadows his light". I used a blur effect in this
video that I first used at one part of "Easier to Run", but I used it
more in this video. Also, I seem to be doing very good with my non-dbz
videos, so you can expect lots more!
My
first Rurouni Kenshin video, and also my first non-DBZ video released
on Breeman AMV! This video took a while because I started making it
during the end of school, and I got cought up in finals. But I finished
this video almost two months after starting it and it turned out great.
I know that Linkin Park is over-used, but I just needed to use that
song in this video, it fit perfectly! I tried out a little bit of Lip
Syncing in this video, and some new Digital Effects. Most of the
footage I captured from my Cartoon Network Rurouni Kenshin tapes, and
the rest is from the Rurouni Kenshin movie, called Samurai X: The
Motion Picture. I hope you enjoy this video, I plan to make even more
Rurouni Kenshin videos in the future, and possibly some with other
(less used) anime's. (i.e. Naruto, Dual, Silent Mobius, Inu Yasha,
SoulTaker).
This
music video is Great!!! I spent almost 2 months working on it! Plus I
captured at 640 X 480! Thats twice as big as before! So you can expect
the quality to be great. The theme of this video is Androids. It
matches so well with the Android-Like Lyrics, in Game Over's Mega Man
2/3 ReMix. I have entered this video into the Otakon 2003 AMV contest.
If you end up going to the 2003 convention, look for it in the AMV
screeenings (Tape 4).
I
finally did a gohan video! The second I heard this song "I Can't Help
You" Gohan was the first character that came to mind. The video quality
is great in this video except in some small areas that arent that
noticable, and the sound quality is great as always. The punch
precision was perfect, and this song is defitaly music video material.
My
second Vegeta music video since Vegeta's Pride. This one came out ok,
the song was suggested by Lauren Zimmerman, a fan who just instant
messaged me on AIM after watching Redefine. Good lyrical meaning,
quality could have been better at some parts, but for the most part
this is a pretty nice video, thanks for the idea Lauren!
My
first Dragonball GT Music Video! (I finally downloaded the Super5
episodes off Kazaa). This video is mainly a tribute to Goku. It came
out really good, and I was able to cut off the Super5 logo, so that
made it better. The video and audio quality are great (As Usual) and
the timing is great.
This
video came out ok. Some of the footage I used wasnt that great quality,
but the editing is pretty good. The theme is pretty good, it shows Fat
Buu, Super Buu, and Kid Buu and spoils the end of DBZ with Kid Buu
being killed. The song fits pretty good with it, and I think it
deserves a little more than CA's rating, but that's his opinion.
This
video has a great theme. I used the Sweedish metal band Game Over's
Punch-Out video game remix "Little Mac's Confession which is on Overclocked ReMix.
I used all tournament fights for the DBZ footage and it came out really
good. The fighting went with the song really well, and the timing was
right on! The audio and video quality came out great.
This
video doesnt really have much of a theme, the only theme is that I used
fights with all the characters shown in the intro of DBGT Final Bout.
It came out pretty nicely and the timing is really good. Quality is
marginal in some areas, but otherwise this is a good fast paced action
video.
This
video is a tribute to my favorite band Dream Theater. I have been
wanting to make a video with this song for a long time, but it never
worked. But now I have finally done it, and I think it came out pretty
good. Quality is good, considering the length of the song, and the
filesize I wanted it. It has a lot of action, and it is all Goku
footage.
This
video was actually made before "Goku's Revenge 1" but I decided to
release it later. The song in this video doesn't really fit with
anything besides the title, but the timing is good. The reason I
decided not to put this video up for so long, is because I didn't
really like the way it came out, but now that I look back on it, it was
alright.
This
is my first Music Video Masterpiece! My first really great DBZ Music
Video. Great quality and nice action throughout the whole video. Ending
wasnt that good, but otherwise its a great video. It made it into the Majin Planet Fight Club.
The
effect I used at the beginning of this video, is called "Mirror". It
worked really well, and I never saw an effect like this in any music
video I can recall. The theme of this video fits OK. The timing wasn't
that bad, but I missed a lot of important timings. Footage was
downloaded, but wasn't too bad.
